Herbtales v0.0.2 Post-jam Update!
A new update for Herbtales is out now!
But first, for those who might not know, this game (demo) was created within the 72-hour game jam "PlayJam". During that time, it was incomplete, broken, and almost unplayable. As the game jam did not allow for updates until it was over, I wasn't able to fix it.
Now that it's over, I'll address the future of Herbtales. While creating this game, I aimed for it to be narrative-driven. However, I am not the best writer for a story, so I focused on creating the systems and the gameplay. The result was this. Hopefully, people find it interesting enough to wait for it to be the game it aims to be.
Since, I'm also currently making a barista game, which I consider my main project. I have pondered whether to focus on which game and have concluded that I'll continue to focus on developing my main project while creating small updates for this game every once in a while. Herbtales will be put on the sidelines for now. The game (demo) will continue to be free until it's worthy for it! And to everyone who has given the game a dollar or two, thank you. It means a lot!
Now on to the changes!
A new mythical creature has arrived! He won't let you pass until he's satisfied!
New and improved world. yes!
New Music and Sound effects! Hopefully, you will all like it! You can turn it off in case you don't!
Updated player and world object sprites. They Look good!
A truckload of optimizations! Let's hope it won't crash again!
Fixed a major bug that prevents picking up items after an errand was completed. More errands?!
Quality of Life improvements. We all like that!
And removed a couple of nasty bugs!
